About KarenzMT&trade

Basic information

Q.1-1How about the Chemical Substances Control Law?UVEPOXY

Please contact us as the registration status varies from each countries.

Q.1-2How about price?UVEPOXY

Please contact us as it will vary depending on the model number, purchase quantity, quality assurance details, etc.

Q.1-3There are four types of KarenzMT, what is the difference?UV

Curability and properties vary depending on the number of functional groups and the structure.

Q.1-4How much the recommended volume for the paint formulation?UV

The recommended volume of addition varies depending on the application to be examined and the required characteristics such as sensitivity and mechanical properties after curing, so please tell us the details. Generally, in the UV curing system, 1-3% is added to the monomer / resin solid content, and in the epoxy curing system, it is evaluated from the same amount as the epoxy group.

Physical characteristics of product

Q.2-1Is there a thiol-specific odor?UVEPOXY

KarenzMT has low odor.
However, the odor is a sensory evaluation, so please check with a sample.

Q.2-2How about the stability of KarenzMT itself?UVEPOXY

It is stable in a general environment.

Q.2-3Is there the data on heat resistance, vapor pressure, etc.?UVEPOXY

Please contact us as it is listed in the SDS.

Sensitivity ・ reaction

Q.3-1Why is the sensitivity improved? Is it possible to reduce the amount of photoinitiator?UV

We believe that the addition of thiols reduces polymerization inhibition by oxygen, improves the efficiency of radical reactions, and improves sensitivity. Since the initiator efficiency is increased, it can be reduced the amount of Photoinitiator.

Q.3-2How about the stability of the composition combined with thiol?UVEPOXY

Please contact us for details as it differs depending on the system.

Q.3-3Any additives should be avoided?UV

Alkalis like amines, and some of metals like Ag. should be avoided. Shelf-life might be shortened in alkali condition because Michel addition reaction is accelerated by alkali ingredient such as amines.

Performance of cured product

Q.4-1How will the mechanical properties change?UV

Depending on the amount of thiol, flexibility and elongation will be changing.

Q.4-2What is the reason for being more flexible?UVEPOXY

It is thinkable that this is due to the flexible structure of the thiol and the difference in the binding species.

Q.4-3How about the weather resistance of the cured product?UVEPOXY

The result of weathering test with weather meter was showed no coloring due to addition of KarenzMT.
Please contact us for details.

Q.4-4What the reason to be more transparency?UV

Is thinkable the reason that is uniform orientation of cured product and that reduction of migration caused by reducing uncured portion.

Q.4-5What about the out-gas?UV

KarenzMT has very low vapor pressure and will be a part of polymer chain after curing, so the out-gas would be below detection limit.
( We don't think you would sense typical thiol odor after curing as well. )
