2-Isocyanatoethyl acrylate

Karenz AOI

Synonyms:2-Acryloyloxyethyl isocyanate

Karenz AOI
Molecular formula: C6H7NO3 Molecular Weight: 141.12

Merit

  • Karenz AOI is a functional monomer that has a high degree of freedom in molecular design and can easily synthesize polymers with isocyanate groups ( oligomers ) or polymers with acrylic groups ( oligomers ).
  • The double bond of Karenz AOI is acrylic group and it has higher photocurability than Karenz MOI.

Reactivity

Karenz AOI has higher curability than Karenz MOI.

Curing method

Dissolve the monomer in a solvent and create a coating film on the PET film with an applicator. After dry with 80℃×0.5hr, UV irradiation.

Result

It evaluated on the time it took for the polymerization rate to reach 50%

UV Curability: 「Karenz AOI」 > 「Existing acrylate」 > 「Karenz MOI」 > 「Existing methacrylate」
